Senior Environmental Designer
Ashton Design is looking for a highly creative and motivated Senior Environmental Designer. This designer should have strong people skills and be able to produce results independently and collaboratively in a team environment. The right candidate will be proactive and dedicated with a great sense of humor. They should have comprehensive knowledge of design implementation issues, and it is essential to be well-versed in planning and executing complete design programs.
Responsibilities
Design and manage wayfinding, signage, and display projects from concept to installation
Develop strong relationships with clients, management, and client-facing teams
Manage projects and clients independently
Program spaces for occupancy use
Create message schedules and sign location plans
Travel and visit project sites for analysis and documentation
Prepare production-ready art files for fabrication
Create punch lists of fabrication errors and inconsistencies post-install
Mentor and lead other designers

Experience
7-10+ years of industry experience plus a degree in Graphic Design and/or Architecture
Knowledge of signage fabrication, installation techniques, materials, and construction specifications
Capable of reading and understanding architectural drawings
Strong sense of design for a 3D context
Detail-oriented and self-motivated
A strong sense of typography and form
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong presentation skills
Key Skills
Adobe Creative Cloud: Acrobat, Bridge, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, CADtools
Google Suite: Drive, Sheets, Docs
Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word
Sketch-up; AutoCAD/Revit, other 3D program experience a plus
Ability to hand sketch concepts a plus
