Ravens Boys & Girls Club
Inspiring greatness with the Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens Boys & Girls Club at Hilton Recreation Center creates a new home for learning, recreation, and community in West Baltimore. Designed to support local youth, the 30,000-square-foot facility brings together spaces for technology, the arts, wellness, and athletics under one roof.
Ashton designed the exterior and interior graphics and signage for the project in collaboration with Design Collective and the Baltimore Ravens. We set out to celebrate the everyday achievements of the boys and girls while inspiring them through the iconic Ravens’s franchise.
We conceived The Hall of Legends to highlight students and their achievements while juxtaposing them among Ravens imagery and artifacts. A life size player and uniform, signed footballs and the shovel from the groundbreaking are among various items on display.
Monochromatic portraits create moments of inspiration throughout the facility. Scaled to the architecture, the imagery brings the determination and energy of Ravens players into the space while reinforcing the club’s mission to inspire the next generation.
Large scale graphics make visitors feel as if they are at Ravens Stadium, while also celebrating the city’s identity with bold typography and local landmarks.
Along with the wayfinding and ADA signage, we designed a donor system to celebrate those that contributed to this significant project.
The wall murals are layered with illustrations and language that relate to a particular room’s use, and include playful references to both the Ravens and students.
“Did you know? Ravens’ players ate over 7,500 Uncrustables in one season.”
