Brewers Hill

The making of a city mascot

Brewers Hill is the result of the historic renovation and adaptive reuse of two landmark Baltimore breweries: Gunther Brewery and the National Brewery, once home to Natty Boh. Ashton collaborated with the on-site team to introduce custom signage packed with character-driven appeal. The project has since become an iconic and beloved part of the city’s skyline.

Building IDs in the shape of bottle caps, brewery-themed building names, and painted murals are all an ode to the whimsy seen in 1950’s beer commercials and emulate the rich brewing heritage of the area.

The feature element of the project is a huge 27' x 30' Mr. Boh, outlined in red neon, which periodically winks at the city and is now an iconic part of the Baltimore skyline.
