City of Lancaster
Culture made clear, city-wide
The City of Lancaster, one of the nation’s oldest inland cities and home to the largest Amish community in the country, balances historic character with a vibrant arts scene. Ashton developed a citywide wayfinding system that guides pedestrians and drivers to key downtown destinations while reinforcing the city’s identity.
To direct visitors to smaller destinations and public parking on foot, pedestrian signage, building identification, and directory maps clarify navigation routes throughout downtown and highlight the city’s walkability.
To accommodate increased traffic, a new vehicular-focused system guides drivers to key destinations like museums, antique shops, and theaters.
Existing signage was updated to align with the new brand and wayfinding system, creating a cohesive experience across downtown.
