“The American Road”
Harley-Davidson Museum, 2014
The road trip is a quintessential part of American culture and the Harley-Davidson Museum’s special summer exhibition, “The American Road,” explored its historic rise and fall in popularity as a fundamental American experience. We worked with the museum’s curators to tell the story of the road trip adventure and how the desire for convenience led to motels, fast food chains, cement dinosaurs, station wagons and much more. Every era of the road trip, from the 1920s to present day, and how it was shaped by that time period is represented through large scale graphics, vintage travel artifacts and pop culture ephemera.
