The Vaughn L. Beals Harley-Davidson Tour Center is designed to give visitors an overview of the manufacturing and assembly processes that occur at the company’s Vehicle Operations facility. We wanted to bring as many elements from the factory into the tour center as possible—from real motorcycle components and production line hangers and mounts modified for display, to using thin-gauge metal for graphic panels reminiscent of those used in the plant’s sheet metal fabrication. Stenciled letters and graphic elements found throughout the factory were incorporated on the gallery floor and walls as a tool to aid visitor flow and complete the factory aesthetic.
