Cordish Lacrosse Center
A monument to a winning tradition
The Cordish Lacrosse Center is home to Johns Hopkins University’s iconic men’s and women’s lacrosse programs. Balancing the Hopkins’ collegiate brand with the bold and energetic Blue Jays’ identity, Ashton used graphics and signage to make the facility feel larger than life for visitors and athletes alike.
The Cordish Center stands at the east end of JHU’s storied Homewood Field, enabling a dramatic entry of the Hopkins lacrosse teams. It also provides a spectacular viewing platform for fans and houses game-day amenities for coaches and guests. Taken in full, it acts as a major recruitment tool, so our goal was to use all spaces available to us to project Hopkins’ long, winning tradition.
The main vestibule celebrates historic achievements with a two-story trophy case, and the staircase risers are imprinted with NCAA championship years.
Wayfinding signage features archival imagery rendered in school colors—another opportunity to embed a layer of athletic spirit and pageantry in the space.
We activated back-of-house hallways and locker rooms with supergraphics of past players and awards to inspire current athletes and celebrate Hopkin’s long history of success in the sport.
