Orginally built in 1858, The Monkton Hotel was a welcome respite for travelers on the railway between Baltimore, MD and York, PA. Today, the hotel serves as a place to escape from everyday life with hiking, tubing, fishing, and horseback riding nearby.

Inspired by the hotel’s rich history and recreational activities embedded in nature, Ashton crafted a brand which cultivates a sense of nostalgia and a wanderlust for exploration.
The visual elements and patterns were inspired by the nearby railroad track cross-sections.
A simple and elegant icon system was created to highlight popular activities on the property.
To capitalize on the brand, a supplementary identity system was created for each of the property’s tenants.
